I am a huge Panthers fan, but I was rooting hard for the Giants last night. Ask dad! What a great game.
Looking forward to the Heels - dook game on Wednesday. Lawson will most likely be out, but I think our big guys can still take it too them. Seriously, they don't have anyone who can match up with Hansbrough. Should be fun to watch!
Go Heels!

Painful for a conservative to admit ...
... but I'm about three-and-a-half hours into listening to "The Audacity of Hope" ... and Obama is making a lot of sense.
At the end of the day, though, he may not get the chance. It looks like the empress of evil is winning the hearts of Americans. I just don't see the appeal ...
And, McCain!?! What is the world coming to?
Soylent Green is made out of people!
Miner ... disenfranchised ... and out.

I've never blogged before!
This is like my first time going into the basement of the undergrad library at UNC and sending my first email. I chisled it out of stone. Thanks for setting this up, Tim!
I agree with Matt in that I am excited about Obama and hope he can keep the momentum up. He's looking strong in New Hampshire, too, so we'll see what happens.
Things are good here in Princeton -- busy week, as I'm interviewing all our RA applicants for next year. My first question for everyone has been: "What would you do if one of your sophomore residents was performing a card trick, and as part of the trick he burned a piece of paper and rubbed the ashed on his forearm to magically display your card of choice?" Now that is a do or die question!
I'm also excited because Dana and I are in the process of booking our first real vacation in a long while. We are planning to spend 4 nights in Virgin Gorda (in the British West Indies) at the beginning of April. I'm just realizing this now, but I guess I'll have to watch the Heels win the national championship this year from the Caribbean!
Anyway, that's a thumbnail sketch of what's going on with me today. Thanks for setting this up, Tim!

No need for the Oscars!
Hillary has already won ...

I thought the writer's strike was on. Man, this is good dialogue.
P.S. Matt's boy, Obama, did do a fine job on Saturday. Ron Paul ... not so much.

Tim Delivers!
Mnah! This will be a great way for all of us to stay connected on a regular basis. I tend toward shorter, more "here's what's going on this week" postings, so here's my first one.
The highlight from my week? For me, it was: Obama wins Iowa. He is the first politician of "our time" that has inspired me, and hence he's the first politician to whose campaign I have donated my own hard-earned money (3 times so far). He strikes me as HONEST AND REAL, and I strongly prefer his fresh vision and perspective over any "lack of experience" that his opponents might harp on. I prefer change over experience, and actually feel that true change would be held back by too much Washington experience/baggage (as would be the case with Clinton). Besides, I trust that he would surround himself with plenty of smart, like-minded advisors. His victory speech in Iowa was an incredible moment -- a vision of a new kind of leader that represents today and tomorrow...not the past. I got chills when he was speaking! He seemed, well, presidential. What can I say, it's just refreshing to finally be inspired by a political leader.
So, let's see what happens in New Hampshire now.

Welcome to the Blogosphere!
Mnah! Well, boys, after much ado and many promises, the new Core Blog is up and running. Now we have absolutely no excuse not to keep in touch. In fact, it's criminal if we don't.
We have a powerful tool that will enable us to share our hopes, our dreams, literature, politics, religion and the meaning of life. So, I propose we begin right away with a really important topic ... the truly hard-hitting ideas of the day ... like whether or not Matt quit "Ben & Jerry's" or was fired ...
Bring it on, gents!
